Grew up in upstate New York, worked on a survey crew in Montana, taught English in Japan, now writes and draws in Seattle. Influences include 70’s punk music, Japanese haiku, and Montana bars.

More recently, works on A History of Poetry Comics, and makes DIY zines of his own illuminated poems and poetry comics, which he gives away for FREE via Future Unwritten Press. In April 2024, he co-curated a traveling exhibition of haiku comics that was the first of its kind.
